Artist Biography

Antonio is an oil painter from Prince George's County Maryland. His passion for art led him to a BA in Studio Art from The University of Maryland College Park in 2013.
 
Antonio's work focuses on surrealism, representation and abstract all combined into one painting style. His inspiration comes from how he sees the beauty in the world around him. Antonio's passion drives him to make his visions become a reality.
 
Antonio developed a technique using negative canvas space in the place of white paint in 2013. He draws parallel lines on the canvas before he starts painting. When he's painting, he stops at the first line and raises his paintbrush off the canvas -- places it back down at the second line and begins painting again leaving the canvas space showing in the place of white paint. He paints fish in the negative canvas space capturing them in their natural habitat of water waves with two-toned stripes.
